Buildings disappear every day. Burned down. Bombed. Demolished. Lost to time for many different reasons.

Some losses were accidents, some the result of natural disasters, and some were the result of deliberate acts of architectural and cultural vandalism. Some losses were the result of decisions, political or otherwise. All of them left behind questions about what was valued, what was protected, and what was allowed to vanish.
